Football world is a current project that West Yorkshire Artificial Lawns is currently working on.

It is a sizeable expansion project consisting of one outdoor 7 a side football pitche & two outdoor 5 a side football pitches which the owners of the project Harbinder Cheema & Andrew Bellenie have decided to add in addition to their already sizeable indoor pitches which are already located in Leeds.

So after several meeting with the project owners & different contractors we at West Yorkshire Artificial Lawns were awarded the main contract.

The pitches will consist of a San Siro 4G turf which will be supplied by Avalon & this specific turf was also used to create the pitch at the O2 stadium.

The benefits of using this type of turf is that this specific grass is manufactured in Holland by Avalon which is a premium grass manufacturer therefore the turf itself is made up of a very high-quality long-lasting stitch.

4G grass is for indoor & outdoor use so it is designed meticulously for football pitches or sports exercise area usage & due to an ultimate pile anchoring technology it is therefore designed to be strong and extremely long lasting for this type of activity.

The San Siro Grass we will be using doesn’t require any sand or rubber infill which is one of the main benefits as San Siro is made up of a combination of curled Polyethylene monofilament and straight polyethylene fibrillated yarns so in being there is no infill so no annoying black rubber flakes getting into your football boots.

Another thing which is then also a huge benefit of 4G it has the design benefit of being able to reduce injury as it gives extremely good recovery capability it also provides a very good grip for football studs & causing less skin abrasion.

The project itself is based on existing concrete which was originally a recycling compound therefore we have had to start completely from scratch starting with raising the ground works to have a good base to be able to start the pitches.

Our next step in progress is currently starting with the fencing border which will divide the outdoor compound into the separate pitches, each pitch with have a vertical boundary of 4.2meters which will be supplied by first fence which is based in Derbyshire which will be installed by us at West Yorkshire Artificial Lawns.
